Why write tryptagonals?

Why write tryptagonals? Well, after the pattern and rhythm was internalized, I found them tumbling out from time to time. Usually, the longer sonnet cycles require an effort of conceptualization and will, but often the individual tryptagonals are one-time sparks. I imagine the tryptagonals to be bezels of wisdom after the quatrains of Khayyam, the dizans of Rumi or Hafiz. Why not look to ancient teachings as compelling sources for the themes expressed in these mystical poems? But I've found that the tryptagonals can also be personal and mundane, or observational, and can be adapted to any theme or concept.
